Stylish hotel with local personality set to make its mark on the city’s hotel scene

Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre, a stylish new 298-room, 4-star hotel, has opened in Manchester’s vibrant Piccadilly area.  In a prime location, moments from one of the country’s major transport hubs, Manchester’s newest property is set to make its mark with its high specification facilities, contemporary design – including Holiday Inn’s signature “Open Lobby” – and a deliberate nod to Manchester’s distinctive city identity.

High Spec Facilities

The hotel features Holiday Inn’s signature ‘Open Lobby’ concept, a vibrant multi-purpose area combining reception, restaurant, lounge, bar, business centre and To Go Café proudly serving Starbucks coffee. In this large, flexible space – a focal point of the hotel – guests can eat and drink, kick back and relax, socialise or work, taking advantage of the hotel’s super-fast free Wi-Fi.

The hotel’s 298 rooms – including 2 penthouse suites with views across the city – are highly specified with modern décor. All of the air-conditioned rooms are equipped with attractive bath amenities, 40-inch LCD Smart HD televisions and built-in USB ports located on the wall sockets at both desk level and by the beds.

Dining options are equally flexible.  From light bites to international favourites, 24-hour options enable guests to eat “what they like, where they like, when they like”, whether it’s a fresh omelette cooked in front of them for breakfast to a delicious afternoon tea or a late night snack. Coffee aficionados will enjoy the To Go Café proudly serving Starbucks, whether they want to take their chosen blend to enjoy in their room or relax with friends or business associates.

For business and social events of all kinds, from cocktail parties and dinners for 140 to board meetings, the hotel offers 12 meeting rooms featuring state-of-the-art technology, as well as an impressive terrace area overlooking the canal.

Local Style

The hotel offers guests a real sense of the city in which it is located.

Design touches include a large neon sign featuring the famous quote from Manchester music impresario Tony Wilson; ‘This is Manchester, we do things differently here’, while other art includes song lyrics from famous Manchester bands and full size city maps.  The meeting rooms have been named after local music heroes as well as world famous night club ‘The Hacienda’ to reflect Manchester’s rich musical heritage.

The hotel’s distinct local personality can also be seen in its menus.  As well as international favourites, there are local dishes such as Lancashire Hot Pot and Bury Black Pudding, along with Manchester Tart and Eccles Cakes.  Specially created cocktails include ‘Our Kid’, ‘This Charming Man’ and ‘Twisting My Melon’, all expressions synonymous with the city.

‘We’ve worked hard to create a first class hotel that reflects the high standards of Holiday Inn along with the very essence of Manchester. We’re confident that both Mancunians and visitors to the city from all over the world will be impressed with what we’ve created’ commented General Manager, David Daly.

As with every Holiday Inn hotel kids get to stay and eat for free so families are fully catered for in a city that is perfect for weekend breaks for adults and children alike.  Designated the European City of Science for 2016, and with musical superstars such as Beyoncé performing this summer, highlights include the Legoland Discovery Centre, Sealife Manchester, the National Football Museum and Old Trafford Tour. For culture lovers the hotel is ideally located for visits to The Royal Exchange, Bridgewater Hall and The Palace Theatre while Manchester’s fantastic shopping and vibrant Northern Quarter are all within a few minutes’ walk; as are the city’s central transport hubs for trains, trams and buses.
